Stratos (Efstratios) Manos was born in Athens and for the past few decades has been living, working, and engaging politically, in trade unionism, and socially in Thessaloniki. As a self-employed Urban and Regional Planner, he endeavors to bring and spread the best practices of his field both in Greece and abroad. He has been honored by his colleagues to represent them in their respective professional associations (SEPOCH, SADAS-PEA, and SAT) and the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE, Central Macedonia branch).
He is a founding member of (a) the Social Consumer Cooperative of Thessaloniki “Vios Coop” (March 2012), which, as a counterweight to the 2010 crisis, sought to realize the manifesto “We take food into our own hands,” and (b) the Non-Profit Civil Company “Co-Fund” (July 2019), whose primary goal is to facilitate the creation of new bodies or ensure the sustainability of existing ones in the Social and Solidarity Economy. In parallel, since March 2019, he has been fighting alongside hundreds of Thessaloniki residents to transform the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) grounds into a large metropolitan park with tall-canopy greenery.
He would like to work at the Glykoasauros pastry shop in Lilipoupoli and serve as opposition to Mayor Harhoudas.
