Anaviosis

Anaviosis (Αναβίωσις Κοιν.Σ.Επ.) is an innovative, newly founded Social and Solidarity Economy venture based in Katerini, active in the field of functional foods based on beneficial microorganisms. Its founder, Kerasia Papoulia, has been a consultant for Effective Microorganisms (E.M.) Technologies since 2010, with long experience in studying and applying technologies built on beneficial microorganisms.

Anaviosis’ first product is “Majuni”: an unpasteurized, all-natural probiotic drink produced through the fermentation of Greek traditional herbs — such as Sideritis (mountain tea), chamomile, and linden — and pure Greek thyme honey, with selected probiotic cultures. The ingredients come exclusively from selected organic farms, and the drink is produced in small batches and sold fresh. Majuni is a functional food that fits easily into the daily diet, contributing to the balance of the gut microbiome as part of a healthy lifestyle.

How it started

The founder’s long engagement with fermentation, microbial cultures, and natural production laid the foundation for the Anaviosis product line. Alongside production, the venture organizes educational seminars and awareness activities around E.M. technologies and their fields of application — the environment, agriculture, and the sustainable management of natural resources — bringing knowledge and hands-on skills to the local community and beyond.

Funding by Co-Fund

Co-Fund’s General Assembly approved the financing of 6,000 euros. It serves as seed capital for carrying out the first full production cycle of Majuni: purchasing raw materials and building the venture’s e-shop.

Despite the high risk of the business proposal — a new product from a startup venture with no established market share — the productive nature and high social value of the activity, together with the joint development of a realistic business plan by both parties, led to the approval of the financing.
