Dimitris Papazacharias grew up in Tripoli and has been living in Athens since 2012. He holds a MEng in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Patras and a MSc in Political Philosophy from Panteion University. For the past ten years, he has been working as a Software Engineer, specializing in web development.

His political and theoretical pursuits, along with the experience of 2015, steered him toward cooperativism and the Social and Solidarity Economy (S.S.E.) as a space for building work and production alternatives. His practical involvement with S.S.E. began through Co-Fund, of which he is a founding member and managing partner.

He would like to be able to devote more time and resources to social investment, social innovation, decentralization, and S.S.E. initiatives with a positive environmental and social impact.

In his free time, he tries to play less chess online and to learn more about economics, history, and international geopolitical developments.

George Konstantopoulos grew up in Pyrgos and works in Athens. He is a Diploma Electrical and Computer Engineer (University of Patras) with a Master’s degree in “Environment and Development” (NTUA), where he is currently completing his PhD thesis on local energy planning and policy. He currently works as an energy engineer, specializing in the development and financing of local development and sustainable energy projects.

During the years of the Greek financial crisis, the deadlocks of the Greek productive model and his interest in fair regional development models led him to actively participate in cooperative ventures. Exploring both the obstacles and the potential of the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) sector brought him together with the other members of Co-Fund. As a founding member of the project, he believes he can contribute to the organization of a fair economic structure that supports cooperativism and responds to social needs.

He tries to find time to build things with his hands, walk a lot, and take care of his beloved.

Stratos (Efstratios) Manos was born in Athens and for the past few decades has been living, working, and engaging politically, in trade unionism, and socially in Thessaloniki. As a self-employed Urban and Regional Planner, he endeavors to bring and spread the best practices of his field both in Greece and abroad. He has been honored by his colleagues to represent them in their respective professional associations (SEPOCH, SADAS-PEA, and SAT) and the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE, Central Macedonia branch).

He is a founding member of (a) the Social Consumer Cooperative of Thessaloniki “Vios Coop” (March 2012), which, as a counterweight to the 2010 crisis, sought to realize the manifesto “We take food into our own hands,” and (b) the Non-Profit Civil Company “Co-Fund” (July 2019), whose primary goal is to facilitate the creation of new bodies or ensure the sustainability of existing ones in the Social and Solidarity Economy. In parallel, since March 2019, he has been fighting alongside hundreds of Thessaloniki residents to transform the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) grounds into a large metropolitan park with tall-canopy greenery.

He would like to work at the Glykoasauros pastry shop in Lilipoupoli and serve as opposition to Mayor Harhoudas.

Fotis Papastergiou was born and lives in Athens, with a few years of residence also in Cyprus and the Netherlands for studies. He graduated as an economist from the University of Piraeus, continued his studies in the field of Cultural Economics & Entrepreneurship at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. However, because the need for knowledge never stops, he is still continuing his studies on Social and Solidarity Economy at the Open University. In his early professional years, he was actively involved in wholesale trade, but then he was fascinated by technology and its impact on society and the economy, as a result of which he has been working in the IT field for the last 10 years.
He currently works as a Product Manager at the technological non-profit organization “Science For You” and is a member of Co-fund.
He still believes, despite any difficulties, that the collective nature of SSE’s ventures constitutes the most suitable foundation, not only for an economy, but also for a society that focuses on the needs of the whole – of the many and the few.
He is the bass player of “Pos Tus Ipame” (a band that clearly has psychotherapeutic powers, at least for him!) and tries to keep his mind open by studying strange and exotic things such as AI, Blockchain, capital, money and surpluses within the framework of SSE.
